CVE-2024-41097 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2024-08-22 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: atm: cxacru: fix endpoint checking in cxacru_bind() Syzbot is still reporting quite an old issue [1] that occurs due to incomplete checking of present usb endpoints. As such, wrong endpoints types may be used at urb sumbitting stage which in turn triggers a warning in usb_submit_urb(). Fix the issue by verifying that required endpoint types are present for both in and out endpoints, taking into account cmd endpoint type. Unfortunately, this patch has not been tested on real hardware. CVE-2023-39191 3 Fedoraproject, Linux, Redhat 3 Fedora, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2024-08-21 N/A 8.2 HIGH
An improper input validation flaw was found in the eBPF subsystem in the Linux kernel. The issue occurs due to a lack of proper validation of dynamic pointers within user-supplied eBPF programs prior to executing them. This may allow an attacker with CAP_BPF privileges to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of the kernel.
CVE-2024-40996 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2024-08-21 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Avoid splat in pskb_pull_reason syzkaller builds (CONFIG_DEBUG_NET=y) frequently trigger a debug hint in pskb_may_pull. We'd like to retain this debug check because it might hint at integer overflows and other issues (kernel code should pull headers, not huge value). In bpf case, this splat isn't interesting at all: such (nonsensical) bpf programs are typically generated by a fuzzer anyway. Do what Eric suggested and suppress such warning. For CONFIG_DEBUG_NET=n we don't need the extra check because pskb_may_pull will do the right thing: return an error without the WARN() backtrace.

CVE-2024-43380 1 Floraison 1 Fugit 2024-08-21 N/A 7.5 HIGH
fugit contains time tools for flor and the floraison group. The fugit "natural" parser, that turns "every wednesday at 5pm" into "0 17 * * 3", accepted any length of input and went on attempting to parse it, not returning promptly, as expected. The parse call could hold the thread with no end in sight. Fugit dependents that do not check (user) input length for plausibility are impacted. A fix was released in fugit 1.11.1.
