A flaw was found in samba. The Samba smbd file server must map Windows group identities (SIDs) into unix group ids (gids). The code that performs this had a flaw that could allow it to read data beyond the end of the array in the case where a negative cache entry had been added to the mapping cache. This could cause the calling code to return those values into the process token that stores the group membership for a user. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality and integrity.
CVE-2021-20228 | 2 Debian, Redhat | 4 Debian Linux, Ansible Automation Platform, Ansible Engine and 1 more | 2023-11-07 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |

A flaw was found in grub2 in versions prior to 2.06. The option parser allows an attacker to write past the end of a heap-allocated buffer by calling certain commands with a large number of specific short forms of options. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality and integrity as well as system availability.
CVE-2021-20325 | 1 Redhat | 1 Enterprise Linux | 2023-11-07 | 10.0 HIGH | 9.8 CRITICAL |
Missing fixes for CVE-2021-40438 and CVE-2021-26691 in the versions of httpd, as shipped in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.5.0, causes a security regression compared to the versions shipped in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4. A user who installs or updates to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.5.0 would be vulnerable to the mentioned CVEs, even if they were properly fixed in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4. CVE-2021-20325 was assigned to that Red Hat specific security regression and it does not affect the upstream versions of httpd.
CVE-2021-20291 | 3 Fedoraproject, Redhat, Storage Project | 4 Fedora, Enterprise Linux, Openshift Container Platform and 1 more | 2023-11-07 | 7.1 HIGH | 6.5 MEDIUM |
A deadlock vulnerability was found in 'github.com/containers/storage' in versions before 1.28.1. When a container image is processed, each layer is unpacked using `tar`. If one of those layers is not a valid `tar` archive this causes an error leading to an unexpected situation where the code indefinitely waits for the tar unpacked stream, which never finishes. An attacker could use this vulnerability to craft a malicious image, which when downloaded and stored by an application using containers/storage, would then cause a deadlock leading to a Denial of Service (DoS).
CVE-2021-20236 | 3 Fedoraproject, Redhat, Zeromq | 4 Fedora, Ceph Storage, Enterprise Linux and 1 more | 2023-11-07 | 7.5 HIGH | 9.8 CRITICAL |
A flaw was found in the ZeroMQ server in versions before 4.3.3. This flaw allows a malicious client to cause a stack buffer overflow on the server by sending crafted topic subscription requests and then unsubscribing. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to confidentiality, integrity, as well as system availability.
CVE-2021-20233 | 4 Fedoraproject, Gnu, Netapp and 1 more | 8 Fedora, Grub2, Ontap Select Deploy Administration Utility and 5 more | 2023-11-07 | 7.2 HIGH | 8.2 HIGH |
A flaw was found in grub2 in versions prior to 2.06. Setparam_prefix() in the menu rendering code performs a length calculation on the assumption that expressing a quoted single quote will require 3 characters, while it actually requires 4 characters which allows an attacker to corrupt memory by one byte for each quote in the input. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality and integrity as well as system availability.
CVE-2021-20321 | 3 Debian, Linux, Redhat | 3 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux | 2023-11-07 | 4.7 MEDIUM | 4.7 MEDIUM |
