A flaw was found in libcaca. A buffer overflow of export.c in function export_troff might lead to memory corruption and other potential consequences.
CVE-2021-30498 | 2 Fedoraproject, Libcaca Project | 2 Fedora, Libcaca | 2024-04-07 | 6.8 MEDIUM | 7.8 HIGH |
A flaw was found in libcaca. A heap buffer overflow in export.c in function export_tga might lead to memory corruption and other potential consequences.
CVE-2018-14553 | 5 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 2 more | 5 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 2 more | 2024-04-07 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
gdImageClone in gd.c in libgd 2.1.0-rc2 through 2.2.5 has a NULL pointer dereference allowing attackers to crash an application via a specific function call sequence. Only affects PHP when linked with an external libgd (not bundled).
CVE-2023-38039 | 3 Fedoraproject, Haxx, Microsoft | 10 Fedora, Curl, Windows 10 1809 and 7 more | 2024-04-01 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
When curl retrieves an HTTP response, it stores the incoming headers so that they can be accessed later via the libcurl headers API. However, curl did not have a limit in how many or how large headers it would accept in a response, allowing a malicious server to stream an endless series of headers and eventually cause curl to run out of heap memory.
CVE-2021-4147 | 3 Fedoraproject, Netapp, Redhat | 3 Fedora, Ontap Select Deploy Administration Utility, Libvirt | 2024-04-01 | 4.9 MEDIUM | 6.5 MEDIUM |
A flaw was found in the libvirt libxl driver. A malicious guest could continuously reboot itself and cause libvirtd on the host to deadlock or crash, resulting in a denial of service condition.
CVE-2021-3975 | 5 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 2 more | 14 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 11 more | 2024-04-01 | N/A | 6.5 MEDIUM |
A use-after-free flaw was found in libvirt. The qemuMonitorUnregister() function in qemuProcessHandleMonitorEOF is called using multiple threads without being adequately protected by a monitor lock. This flaw could be triggered by the virConnectGetAllDomainStats API when the guest is shutting down. An unprivileged client with a read-only connection could use this flaw to perform a denial of service attack by causing the libvirt daemon to crash.
CVE-2019-20454 | 3 Fedoraproject, Pcre, Splunk | 3 Fedora, Pcre2, Universal Forwarder | 2024-03-27 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
An out-of-bounds read was discovered in PCRE before 10.34 when the pattern \X is JIT compiled and used to match specially crafted subjects in non-UTF mode. Applications that use PCRE to parse untrusted input may be vulnerable to this flaw, which would allow an attacker to crash the application. The flaw occurs in do_extuni_no_utf in pcre2_jit_compile.c.
CVE-2021-31566 | 5 Debian, Fedoraproject, Libarchive and 2 more | 14 Debian Linux, Fedora, Libarchive and 11 more | 2024-03-27 | N/A | 7.8 HIGH |
An improper link resolution flaw can occur while extracting an archive leading to changing modes, times, access control lists, and flags of a file outside of the archive. An attacker may provide a malicious archive to a victim user, who would trigger this flaw when trying to extract the archive. A local attacker may use this flaw to gain more privileges in a system.
CVE-2022-36227 | 4 Debian, Fedoraproject, Libarchive and 1 more | 4 Debian Linux, Fedora, Libarchive and 1 more | 2024-03-27 | N/A | 9.8 CRITICAL |
In libarchive before 3.6.2, the software does not check for an error after calling calloc function that can return with a NULL pointer if the function fails, which leads to a resultant NULL pointer dereference. NOTE: the discoverer cites this CWE-476 remark but third parties dispute the code-execution impact: "In rare circumstances, when NULL is equivalent to the 0x0 memory address and privileged code can access it, then writing or reading memory is possible, which may lead to code execution."
CVE-2021-36976 | 4 Apple, Fedoraproject, Libarchive and 1 more | 7 Ipados, Iphone Os, Macos and 4 more | 2024-03-27 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 6.5 MEDIUM |
libarchive 3.4.1 through 3.5.1 has a use-after-free in copy_string (called from do_uncompress_block and process_block).
CVE-2020-8286 | 8 Apple, Debian, Fedoraproject and 5 more | 20 Mac Os X, Macos, Debian Linux and 17 more | 2024-03-27 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
curl 7.41.0 through 7.73.0 is vulnerable to an improper check for certificate revocation due to insufficient verification of the OCSP response.
CVE-2020-8285 | 9 Apple, Debian, Fedoraproject and 6 more | 30 Mac Os X, Macos, Debian Linux and 27 more | 2024-03-27 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
curl 7.21.0 to and including 7.73.0 is vulnerable to uncontrolled recursion due to a stack overflow issue in FTP wildcard match parsing.
CVE-2021-22898 | 6 Debian, Fedoraproject, Haxx and 3 more | 12 Debian Linux, Fedora, Curl and 9 more | 2024-03-27 | 2.6 LOW | 3.1 LOW |
curl 7.7 through 7.76.1 suffers from an information disclosure when the `-t` command line option, known as `CURLOPT_TELNETOPTIONS` in libcurl, is used to send variable=content pairs to TELNET servers. Due to a flaw in the option parser for sending NEW_ENV variables, libcurl could be made to pass on uninitialized data from a stack based buffer to the server, resulting in potentially revealing sensitive internal information to the server using a clear-text network protocol.
CVE-2021-22922 | 6 Fedoraproject, Haxx, Netapp and 3 more | 23 Fedora, Curl, Cloud Backup and 20 more | 2024-03-27 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 6.5 MEDIUM |
When curl is instructed to download content using the metalink feature, thecontents is verified against a hash provided in the metalink XML file. The metalink XML file points out to the client how to get the same contentfrom a set of different URLs, potentially hosted by different servers and theclient can then download the file from one or several of them. In a serial orparallel manner. If one of the servers hosting the contents has been breached and the contentsof the specific file on that server is replaced with a modified payload, curlshould detect this when the hash of the file mismatches after a completeddownload. It should remove the contents and instead try getting the contentsfrom another URL. This is not done, and instead such a hash mismatch is onlymentioned in text and the potentially malicious content is kept in the file ondisk.
CVE-2021-22946 | 8 Apple, Debian, Fedoraproject and 5 more | 37 Macos, Debian Linux, Fedora and 34 more | 2024-03-27 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
A user can tell curl >= 7.20.0 and <= 7.78.0 to require a successful upgrade to TLS when speaking to an IMAP, POP3 or FTP server (`--ssl-reqd` on the command line or`CURLOPT_USE_SSL` set to `CURLUSESSL_CONTROL` or `CURLUSESSL_ALL` withlibcurl). This requirement could be bypassed if the server would return a properly crafted but perfectly legitimate response. This flaw would then make curl silently continue its operations **withoutTLS** contrary to the instructions and expectations, exposing possibly sensitive data in clear text over the network.
CVE-2021-22923 | 6 Fedoraproject, Haxx, Netapp and 3 more | 23 Fedora, Curl, Cloud Backup and 20 more | 2024-03-27 | 2.6 LOW | 5.3 MEDIUM |
When curl is instructed to get content using the metalink feature, and a user name and password are used to download the metalink XML file, those same credentials are then subsequently passed on to each of the servers from which curl will download or try to download the contents from. Often contrary to the user's expectations and intentions and without telling the user it happened.
CVE-2021-22925 | 7 Apple, Fedoraproject, Haxx and 4 more | 27 Mac Os X, Macos, Fedora and 24 more | 2024-03-27 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 5.3 MEDIUM |
curl supports the `-t` command line option, known as `CURLOPT_TELNETOPTIONS`in libcurl. This rarely used option is used to send variable=content pairs toTELNET servers.Due to flaw in the option parser for sending `NEW_ENV` variables, libcurlcould be made to pass on uninitialized data from a stack based buffer to theserver. Therefore potentially revealing sensitive internal information to theserver using a clear-text network protocol. This could happen because curl did not call and use sscanf() correctly whenparsing the string provided by the application.
CVE-2021-22947 | 8 Apple, Debian, Fedoraproject and 5 more | 34 Macos, Debian Linux, Fedora and 31 more | 2024-03-27 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 5.9 MEDIUM |
When curl >= 7.20.0 and <= 7.78.0 connects to an IMAP or POP3 server to retrieve data using STARTTLS to upgrade to TLS security, the server can respond and send back multiple responses at once that curl caches. curl would then upgrade to TLS but not flush the in-queue of cached responses but instead continue using and trustingthe responses it got *before* the TLS handshake as if they were authenticated.Using this flaw, it allows a Man-In-The-Middle attacker to first inject the fake responses, then pass-through the TLS traffic from the legitimate server and trick curl into sending data back to the user thinking the attacker's injected data comes from the TLS-protected server.
CVE-2022-27776 | 6 Brocade, Debian, Fedoraproject and 3 more | 18 Fabric Operating System, Debian Linux, Fedora and 15 more | 2024-03-27 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 6.5 MEDIUM |
A insufficiently protected credentials vulnerability in fixed in curl 7.83.0 might leak authentication or cookie header data on HTTP redirects to the same host but another port number.
CVE-2022-42916 | 4 Apple, Fedoraproject, Haxx and 1 more | 4 Macos, Fedora, Curl and 1 more | 2024-03-27 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
In curl before 7.86.0, the HSTS check could be bypassed to trick it into staying with HTTP. Using its HSTS support, curl can be instructed to use HTTPS directly (instead of using an insecure cleartext HTTP step) even when HTTP is provided in the URL. This mechanism could be bypassed if the host name in the given URL uses IDN characters that get replaced with ASCII counterparts as part of the IDN conversion, e.g., using the character UTF-8 U+3002 (IDEOGRAPHIC FULL STOP) instead of the common ASCII full stop of U+002E (.). The earliest affected version is 7.77.0 2021-05-26. |
