CVE-2019-16254 | 2 Debian, Ruby-lang | 2 Debian Linux, Ruby | 2023-04-30 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 5.3 MEDIUM |
Ruby through 2.4.7, 2.5.x through 2.5.6, and 2.6.x through 2.6.4 allows HTTP Response Splitting. If a program using WEBrick inserts untrusted input into the response header, an attacker can exploit it to insert a newline character to split a header, and inject malicious content to deceive clients. NOTE: this issue exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2017-17742, which addressed the CRLF vector, but did not address an isolated CR or an isolated LF.
CVE-2019-16201 | 2 Debian, Ruby-lang | 2 Debian Linux, Ruby | 2023-04-30 | 7.8 HIGH | 7.5 HIGH |
WEBrick::HTTPAuth::DigestAuth in Ruby through 2.4.7, 2.5.x through 2.5.6, and 2.6.x through 2.6.4 has a regular expression Denial of Service cause by looping/backtracking. A victim must expose a WEBrick server that uses DigestAuth to the Internet or a untrusted network.
CVE-2017-17742 | 2 Debian, Ruby-lang | 2 Debian Linux, Ruby | 2023-04-30 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 5.3 MEDIUM |
Ruby before 2.2.10, 2.3.x before 2.3.7, 2.4.x before 2.4.4, 2.5.x before 2.5.1, and 2.6.0-preview1 allows an HTTP Response Splitting attack. An attacker can inject a crafted key and value into an HTTP response for the HTTP server of WEBrick.
CVE-2016-2338 | 2 Debian, Ruby-lang | 2 Debian Linux, Ruby | 2023-03-01 | N/A | 9.8 CRITICAL |
An exploitable heap overflow vulnerability exists in the Psych::Emitter start_document function of Ruby. In Psych::Emitter start_document function heap buffer "head" allocation is made based on tags array length. Specially constructed object passed as element of tags array can increase this array size after mentioned allocation and cause heap overflow.
CVE-2013-2119 | 3 Phusion, Redhat, Ruby-lang | 3 Passenger, Openshift, Ruby | 2023-02-13 | 4.6 MEDIUM | N/A |
Phusion Passenger gem before 3.0.21 and 4.0.x before 4.0.5 for Ruby allows local users to cause a denial of service (prevent application start) or gain privileges by pre-creating a temporary "config" file in a directory with a predictable name in /tmp/ before it is used by the gem.
CVE-2013-0175 | 3 Erik Michaels-ober, Grape Project, Ruby-lang | 3 Multi Xml, Grape, Ruby | 2023-02-13 | 7.5 HIGH | N/A |
multi_xml gem 0.5.2 for Ruby, as used in Grape before 0.2.6 and possibly other products, does not properly restrict casts of string values, which allows remote attackers to conduct object-injection attacks and execute arbitrary code, or cause a denial of service (memory and CPU consumption) involving nested XML entity references, by leveraging support for (1) YAML type conversion or (2) Symbol type conversion, a similar vulnerability to CVE-2013-0156.
CVE-2017-9229 | 3 Oniguruma Project, Php, Ruby-lang | 3 Oniguruma, Php, Ruby | 2022-09-01 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
An issue was discovered in Oniguruma 6.2.0, as used in Oniguruma-mod in Ruby through 2.4.1 and mbstring in PHP through 7.1.5. A SIGSEGV occurs in left_adjust_char_head() during regular expression compilation. Invalid handling of reg->dmax in forward_search_range() could result in an invalid pointer dereference, normally as an immediate denial-of-service condition.
CVE-2021-28966 | 2 Microsoft, Ruby-lang | 2 Windows, Ruby | 2022-08-12 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
In Ruby through 3.0 on Windows, a remote attacker can submit a crafted path when a Web application handles a parameter with TmpDir.
CVE-2013-0256 | 2 Canonical, Ruby-lang | 3 Ubuntu Linux, Rdoc, Ruby | 2021-09-09 | 4.3 MEDIUM | N/A |
darkfish.js in RDoc 2.3.0 through 3.12 and 4.x before 4.0.0.preview2.1, as used in Ruby, does not properly generate documents, which allows remote attackers to conduct cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks via a crafted URL.
CVE-2016-7798 | 2 Debian, Ruby-lang | 2 Debian Linux, Openssl | 2020-11-05 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
The openssl gem for Ruby uses the same initialization vector (IV) in GCM Mode (aes-*-gcm) when the IV is set before the key, which makes it easier for context-dependent attackers to bypass the encryption protection mechanism.
CVE-2015-1855 | 3 Debian, Puppet, Ruby-lang | 5 Debian Linux, Puppet Agent, Puppet Enterprise and 2 more | 2020-09-30 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 5.9 MEDIUM |
verify_certificate_identity in the OpenSSL extension in Ruby before 2.0.0 patchlevel 645, 2.1.x before 2.1.6, and 2.2.x before 2.2.2 does not properly validate hostnames, which allows remote attackers to spoof servers via vectors related to (1) multiple wildcards, (1) wildcards in IDNA names, (3) case sensitivity, and (4) non-ASCII characters.
CVE-2019-15845 | 2 Canonical, Ruby-lang | 2 Ubuntu Linux, Ruby | 2020-08-24 | 6.4 MEDIUM | 6.5 MEDIUM |
Ruby through 2.4.7, 2.5.x through 2.5.6, and 2.6.x through 2.6.4 mishandles path checking within File.fnmatch functions.
CVE-2011-4121 | 1 Ruby-lang | 1 Ruby | 2020-04-30 | 7.5 HIGH | 9.8 CRITICAL |
The OpenSSL extension of Ruby (Git trunk) versions after 2011-09-01 up to 2011-11-03 always generated an exponent value of '1' to be used for private RSA key generation. A remote attacker could use this flaw to bypass or corrupt integrity of services, depending on strong private RSA keys generation mechanism.
CVE-2011-3624 | 1 Ruby-lang | 1 Ruby | 2019-12-11 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 5.3 MEDIUM |
Various methods in WEBrick::HTTPRequest in Ruby 1.9.2 and 1.8.7 and earlier do not validate the X-Forwarded-For, X-Forwarded-Host and X-Forwarded-Server headers in requests, which might allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary text into log files or bypass intended address parsing via a crafted header.
CVE-2013-1945 | 1 Ruby-lang | 1 Ruby193 | 2019-11-06 | 2.1 LOW | 3.3 LOW |
ruby193 uses an insecure LD_LIBRARY_PATH setting.
CVE-2018-8778 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Redhat and 1 more | 4 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Enterprise Linux and 1 more | 2019-10-03 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
In Ruby before 2.2.10, 2.3.x before 2.3.7, 2.4.x before 2.4.4, 2.5.x before 2.5.1, and 2.6.0-preview1, an attacker controlling the unpacking format (similar to format string vulnerabilities) can trigger a buffer under-read in the String#unpack method, resulting in a massive and controlled information disclosure.
CVE-2018-16396 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Redhat and 1 more | 4 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Enterprise Linux and 1 more | 2019-10-03 | 6.8 MEDIUM | 8.1 HIGH |
An issue was discovered in Ruby before 2.3.8, 2.4.x before 2.4.5, 2.5.x before 2.5.2, and 2.6.x before 2.6.0-preview3. It does not taint strings that result from unpacking tainted strings with some formats.
CVE-2018-16395 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Redhat and 1 more | 5 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Enterprise Linux and 2 more | 2019-10-03 | 7.5 HIGH | 9.8 CRITICAL |
An issue was discovered in the OpenSSL library in Ruby before 2.3.8, 2.4.x before 2.4.5, 2.5.x before 2.5.2, and 2.6.x before 2.6.0-preview3. When two OpenSSL::X509::Name objects are compared using ==, depending on the ordering, non-equal objects may return true. When the first argument is one character longer than the second, or the second argument contains a character that is one less than a character in the same position of the first argument, the result of == will be true. This could be leveraged to create an illegitimate certificate that may be accepted as legitimate and then used in signing or encryption operations.
CVE-2017-17405 | 3 Debian, Redhat, Ruby-lang | 8 Debian Linux, Enterprise Linux Desktop, Enterprise Linux Server and 5 more | 2019-09-19 | 9.3 HIGH | 8.8 HIGH |
Ruby before 2.4.3 allows Net::FTP command injection. Net::FTP#get, getbinaryfile, gettextfile, put, putbinaryfile, and puttextfile use Kernel#open to open a local file. If the localfile argument starts with the "|" pipe character, the command following the pipe character is executed. The default value of localfile is File.basename(remotefile), so malicious FTP servers could cause arbitrary command execution.
CVE-2018-8777 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Redhat and 1 more | 4 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Enterprise Linux and 1 more | 2019-07-21 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
In Ruby before 2.2.10, 2.3.x before 2.3.7, 2.4.x before 2.4.4, 2.5.x before 2.5.1, and 2.6.0-preview1, an attacker can pass a large HTTP request with a crafted header to WEBrick server or a crafted body to WEBrick server/handler and cause a denial of service (memory consumption). |
