CVE-2019-19055 3 Canonical, Fedoraproject, Linux 3 Ubuntu Linux, Fedora, Linux Kernel 2024-08-05 4.9 MEDIUM 5.5 MEDIUM
A memory leak in the nl80211_get_ftm_responder_stats() function in net/wireless/nl80211.c in the Linux kernel through 5.3.11 allows attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) by triggering nl80211hdr_put() failures, aka CID-1399c59fa929. NOTE: third parties dispute the relevance of this because it occurs on a code path where a successful allocation has already occurred
CVE-2019-19039 3 Canonical, Debian, Linux 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2024-08-05 1.9 LOW 5.5 MEDIUM
__btrfs_free_extent in fs/btrfs/extent-tree.c in the Linux kernel through 5.3.12 calls btrfs_print_leaf in a certain ENOENT case, which allows local users to obtain potentially sensitive information about register values via the dmesg program. NOTE: The BTRFS development team disputes this issues as not being a vulnerability because β€œ1) The kernel provide facilities to restrict access to dmesg - dmesg_restrict=1 sysctl option. So it's really up to the system administrator to judge whether dmesg access shall be disallowed or not. 2) WARN/WARN_ON are widely used macros in the linux kernel. If this CVE is considered valid this would mean there are literally thousands CVE lurking in the kernel - something which clearly is not the case.
CVE-2019-19076 3 Canonical, Linux, Redhat 3 Ubuntu Linux, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2024-08-05 7.1 HIGH 5.9 MEDIUM
A memory leak in the nfp_abm_u32_knode_replace() function in drivers/net/ethernet/netronome/nfp/abm/cls.c in the Linux kernel before 5.3.6 allows attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption), aka CID-78beef629fd9. NOTE: This has been argued as not a valid vulnerability. The upstream commit 78beef629fd9 was reverted
CVE-2019-16229 3 Canonical, Linux, Redhat 3 Ubuntu Linux, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2024-08-05 4.7 MEDIUM 4.1 MEDIUM
drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdkfd/kfd_interrupt.c in the Linux kernel 5.2.14 does not check the alloc_workqueue return value, leading to a NULL pointer dereference. NOTE: The security community disputes this issues as not being serious enough to be deserving a CVE id
CVE-2019-9675 3 Canonical, Opensuse, Php 3 Ubuntu Linux, Leap, Php 2024-08-04 6.8 MEDIUM 8.1 HIGH
An issue was discovered in PHP 7.x before 7.1.27 and 7.3.x before 7.3.3. phar_tar_writeheaders_int in ext/phar/tar.c has a buffer overflow via a long link value. NOTE: The vendor indicates that the link value is used only when an archive contains a symlink, which currently cannot happen: "This issue allows theoretical compromise of security, but a practical attack is usually impossible.
CVE-2020-14400 4 Canonical, Debian, Libvncserver Project and 1 more 4 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Libvncserver and 1 more 2024-08-04 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
An issue was discovered in LibVNCServer before 0.9.13. Byte-aligned data is accessed through uint16_t pointers in libvncserver/translate.c. NOTE: Third parties do not consider this to be a vulnerability as there is no known path of exploitation or cross of a trust boundary
CVE-2020-14399 4 Canonical, Debian, Libvncserver Project and 1 more 4 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Libvncserver and 1 more 2024-08-04 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
An issue was discovered in LibVNCServer before 0.9.13. Byte-aligned data is accessed through uint32_t pointers in libvncclient/rfbproto.c. NOTE: there is reportedly "no trust boundary crossed.
CVE-2020-12656 3 Canonical, Linux, Opensuse 3 Ubuntu Linux, Linux Kernel, Leap 2024-08-04 2.1 LOW 5.5 MEDIUM
gss_mech_free in net/sunrpc/auth_gss/gss_mech_switch.c in the rpcsec_gss_krb5 implementation in the Linux kernel through 5.6.10 lacks certain domain_release calls, leading to a memory leak. Note: This was disputed with the assertion that the issue does not grant any access not already available. It is a problem that on unloading a specific kernel module some memory is leaked, but loading kernel modules is a privileged operation. A user could also write a kernel module to consume any amount of memory they like and load that replicating the effect of this bug
CVE-2020-11565 2 Canonical, Linux 2 Ubuntu Linux, Linux Kernel 2024-08-04 3.6 LOW 6.0 MEDIUM
An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel through 5.6.2. mpol_parse_str in mm/mempolicy.c has a stack-based out-of-bounds write because an empty nodelist is mishandled during mount option parsing, aka CID-aa9f7d5172fa. NOTE: Someone in the security community disagrees that this is a vulnerability because the issue β€œis a bug in parsing mount options which can only be specified by a privileged user, so triggering the bug does not grant any powers not already held.”
CVE-2020-12768 3 Canonical, Debian, Linux 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2024-08-04 2.1 LOW 5.5 MEDIUM
An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel before 5.6. svm_cpu_uninit in arch/x86/kvm/svm.c has a memory leak, aka CID-d80b64ff297e. NOTE: third parties dispute this issue because it's a one-time leak at the boot, the size is negligible, and it can't be triggered at will
CVE-2004-2154 2 Apple, Canonical 2 Cups, Ubuntu Linux 2024-08-01 7.5 HIGH 9.8 CRITICAL
CUPS before 1.1.21rc1 treats a Location directive in cupsd.conf as case sensitive, which allows attackers to bypass intended ACLs via a printer name containing uppercase or lowercase letters that are different from what is specified in the directive.
CVE-2007-6353 3 Canonical, Debian, Exiv2 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Exiv2 2024-07-19 7.5 HIGH N/A
Integer overflow in exif.cpp in exiv2 library allows context-dependent attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted EXIF file that triggers a heap-based buffer overflow.
CVE-2017-16532 3 Canonical, Debian, Linux 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2024-07-17 7.2 HIGH 6.6 MEDIUM
The get_endpoints function in drivers/usb/misc/usbtest.c in the Linux kernel through 4.13.11 allows local users to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and system crash) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted USB device.
CVE-2015-2925 3 Canonical, Debian, Linux 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2024-07-17 6.9 MEDIUM N/A
The prepend_path function in fs/dcache.c in the Linux kernel before 4.2.4 does not properly handle rename actions inside a bind mount, which allows local users to bypass an intended container protection mechanism by renaming a directory, related to a "double-chroot attack."
CVE-2022-28657 2 Apport Project, Canonical 2 Apport, Ubuntu Linux 2024-07-03 N/A 7.8 HIGH
Apport does not disable python crash handler before entering chroot
CVE-2018-4233 3 Apple, Canonical, Microsoft 8 Icloud, Iphone Os, Itunes and 5 more 2024-07-03 6.8 MEDIUM 8.8 HIGH
An issue was discovered in certain Apple products. iOS before 11.4 is affected. Safari before 11.1.1 is affected. iCloud before 7.5 on Windows is affected. iTunes before 12.7.5 on Windows is affected. tvOS before 11.4 is affected. watchOS before 4.3.1 is affected. The issue involves the "WebKit" component. It allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption and application crash) via a crafted web site.
CVE-2019-20503 3 Canonical, Debian, Usrsctp Project 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Usrsctp 2024-06-27 4.3 MEDIUM 6.5 MEDIUM
usrsctp before 2019-12-20 has out-of-bounds reads in sctp_load_addresses_from_init.
CVE-2007-1667 3 Canonical, Debian, X.org 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Libx11 2024-06-26 9.3 HIGH N/A
Multiple integer overflows in (1) the XGetPixel function in ImUtil.c in X.Org libx11 before 1.0.3, and (2) XInitImage function in xwd.c for ImageMagick, allow user-assisted remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) or obtain sensitive information via crafted images with large or negative values that trigger a buffer overflow.
CVE-2019-14861 5 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 2 more 5 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 2 more 2024-06-25 3.5 LOW 5.3 MEDIUM
All Samba versions 4.x.x before 4.9.17, 4.10.x before 4.10.11 and 4.11.x before 4.11.3 have an issue, where the (poorly named) dnsserver RPC pipe provides administrative facilities to modify DNS records and zones. Samba, when acting as an AD DC, stores DNS records in LDAP. In AD, the default permissions on the DNS partition allow creation of new records by authenticated users. This is used for example to allow machines to self-register in DNS. If a DNS record was created that case-insensitively matched the name of the zone, the ldb_qsort() and dns_name_compare() routines could be confused into reading memory prior to the list of DNS entries when responding to DnssrvEnumRecords() or DnssrvEnumRecords2() and so following invalid memory as a pointer.
CVE-2019-8354 3 Canonical, Debian, Sound Exchange Project 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Sound Exchange 2024-06-18 4.3 MEDIUM 5.0 MEDIUM
An issue was discovered in SoX 14.4.2. lsx_make_lpf in effect_i_dsp.c has an integer overflow on the result of multiplication fed into malloc. When the buffer is allocated, it is smaller than expected, leading to a heap-based buffer overflow.
