CVE-2019-16230 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2024-08-05 4.7 MEDIUM 4.7 MEDIUM
drivers/gpu/drm/radeon/radeon_display.c in the Linux kernel 5.2.14 does not check the alloc_workqueue return value, leading to a NULL pointer dereference. NOTE: A third-party software maintainer states that the work queue allocation is happening during device initialization, which for a graphics card occurs during boot. It is not attacker controllable and OOM at that time is highly unlikely
CVE-2019-12382 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2024-08-05 4.9 MEDIUM 5.5 MEDIUM
An issue was discovered in drm_load_edid_firmware in drivers/gpu/drm/drm_edid_load.c in the Linux kernel through 5.1.5. There is an unchecked kstrdup of fwstr, which might allow an attacker to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and system crash). NOTE: The vendor disputes this issues as not being a vulnerability because kstrdup() returning NULL is handled sufficiently and there is no chance for a NULL pointer dereference
CVE-2019-12455 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2024-08-05 4.9 MEDIUM 5.5 MEDIUM
An issue was discovered in sunxi_divs_clk_setup in drivers/clk/sunxi/clk-sunxi.c in the Linux kernel through 5.1.5. There is an unchecked kstrndup of derived_name, which might allow an attacker to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and system crash). NOTE: This id is disputed as not being an issue because “The memory allocation that was not checked is part of a code that only runs at boot time, before user processes are started. Therefore, there is no possibility for an unprivileged user to control it, and no denial of service.”
CVE-2019-12378 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2024-08-05 4.9 MEDIUM 5.5 MEDIUM
An issue was discovered in ip6_ra_control in net/ipv6/ipv6_sockglue.c in the Linux kernel through 5.1.5. There is an unchecked kmalloc of new_ra, which might allow an attacker to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and system crash). NOTE: This has been disputed as not an issue
CVE-2019-12381 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2024-08-05 4.9 MEDIUM 5.5 MEDIUM
An issue was discovered in ip_ra_control in net/ipv4/ip_sockglue.c in the Linux kernel through 5.1.5. There is an unchecked kmalloc of new_ra, which might allow an attacker to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and system crash). NOTE: this is disputed because new_ra is never used if it is NULL
CVE-2020-24890 1 Libraw 1 Libraw 2024-08-04 2.6 LOW 5.5 MEDIUM
libraw 20.0 has a null pointer dereference vulnerability in parse_tiff_ifd in src/metadata/tiff.cpp, which may result in context-dependent arbitrary code execution. Note: this vulnerability occurs only if you compile the software in a certain way
CVE-2020-25821 1 Peg-markdown Project 1 Peg-markdown 2024-08-04 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
peg-markdown 0.4.14 has a NULL pointer dereference in process_raw_blocks in markdown_lib.c. NOTE: This vulnerability only affects products that are no longer supported by the maintainer
CVE-2021-41495 1 Numpy 1 Numpy 2024-08-04 3.5 LOW 5.3 MEDIUM
Null Pointer Dereference vulnerability exists in numpy.sort in NumPy &lt and 1.19 in the PyArray_DescrNew function due to missing return-value validation, which allows attackers to conduct DoS attacks by repetitively creating sort arrays. NOTE: While correct that validation is missing, an error can only occur due to an exhaustion of memory. If the user can exhaust memory, they are already privileged. Further, it should be practically impossible to construct an attack which can target the memory exhaustion to occur at exactly this place
CVE-2021-29296 1 Dlink 2 Dir-825, Dir-825 Firmware 2024-08-03 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
Null Pointer Dereference vulnerability in D-Link DIR-825 2.10b02, which could let a remote malicious user cause a denial of service. The vulnerability could be triggered by sending an HTTP request with URL /vct_wan; the sbin/httpd would invoke the strchr function and take NULL as a first argument, which finally leads to the segmentation fault. NOTE: The DIR-825 and all hardware revisions is considered End of Life and as such this issue will not be patched
CVE-2021-29295 1 Dlink 2 Dsp-w215, Dsp-w215 Firmware 2024-08-03 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
Null Pointer Dereference vulnerability exists in D-Link DSP-W215 1.10, which could let a remote malicious user cause a denial of servie via usr/bin/lighttpd. It could be triggered by sending an HTTP request without URL in the start line directly to the device. NOTE: The DSP-W215 and all hardware revisions is considered End of Life and as such this issue will not be patched
CVE-2021-29294 1 Dlink 2 Dsl-2740r, Dsl-2740r Firmware 2024-08-03 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
Null Pointer Dereference vulnerability exists in D-Link DSL-2740R UK_1.01, which could let a remove malicious user cause a denial of service via the send_hnap_unauthorized function. It could be triggered by sending crafted POST request to /HNAP1/. NOTE: The DSL-2740R and all hardware revisions are considered End of Life and as such this issue will not be patched
CVE-2022-36648 1 Qemu 1 Qemu 2024-08-03 N/A 10.0 CRITICAL
The hardware emulation in the of_dpa_cmd_add_l2_flood of rocker device model in QEMU, as used in 7.0.0 and earlier, allows remote attackers to crash the host qemu and potentially execute code on the host via execute a malformed program in the guest OS. Note: This has been disputed by multiple third parties as not a valid vulnerability due to the rocker device not falling within the virtualization use case.
CVE-2024-36982 1 Splunk 2 Cloud, Splunk 2024-08-02 N/A 7.5 HIGH
In Splunk Enterprise versions below 9.2.2, 9.1.5, and 9.0.10 and Splunk Cloud Platform versions below 9.1.2312.109 and 9.1.2308.207, an attacker could trigger a null pointer reference on the cluster/config REST endpoint, which could result in a crash of the Splunk daemon.
CVE-2024-38571 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2024-08-01 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thermal/drivers/tsens: Fix null pointer dereference compute_intercept_slope() is called from calibrate_8960() (in tsens-8960.c) as compute_intercept_slope(priv, p1, NULL, ONE_PT_CALIB) which lead to null pointer dereference (if DEBUG or DYNAMIC_DEBUG set). Fix this bug by adding null pointer check. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.
CVE-2021-41689 1 Offis 1 Dcmtk 2024-08-01 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
DCMTK through 3.6.6 does not handle string copy properly. Sending specific requests to the dcmqrdb program, it would query its database and copy the result even if the result is null, which can incur a head-based overflow. An attacker can use it to launch a DoS attack.
CVE-2024-42083 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2024-07-30 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ionic: fix kernel panic due to multi-buffer handling Currently, the ionic_run_xdp() doesn't handle multi-buffer packets properly for XDP_TX and XDP_REDIRECT. When a jumbo frame is received, the ionic_run_xdp() first makes xdp frame with all necessary pages in the rx descriptor. And if the action is either XDP_TX or XDP_REDIRECT, it should unmap dma-mapping and reset page pointer to NULL for all pages, not only the first page. But it doesn't for SG pages. So, SG pages unexpectedly will be reused. It eventually causes kernel panic. CVE-2024-42065 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2024-07-30 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: Add a NULL check in xe_ttm_stolen_mgr_init Add an explicit check to ensure that the mgr is not NULL.
CVE-2024-42069 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2024-07-30 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: mana: Fix possible double free in error handling path When auxiliary_device_add() returns error and then calls auxiliary_device_uninit(), callback function adev_release calls kfree(madev). We shouldn't call kfree(madev) again in the error handling path. Set 'madev' to NULL.
CVE-2024-42074 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2024-07-30 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: amd: acp: add a null check for chip_pdev structure When acp platform device creation is skipped, chip->chip_pdev value will remain NULL. Add NULL check for chip->chip_pdev structure in snd_acp_resume() function to avoid null pointer dereference.
CVE-2024-42079 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2024-07-30 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gfs2: Fix NULL pointer dereference in gfs2_log_flush In gfs2_jindex_free(), set sdp->sd_jdesc to NULL under the log flush lock to provide exclusion against gfs2_log_flush(). In gfs2_log_flush(), check if sdp->sd_jdesc is non-NULL before dereferencing it. Otherwise, we could run into a NULL pointer dereference when outstanding glock work races with an unmount (glock_work_func -> run_queue -> do_xmote -> inode_go_sync -> gfs2_log_flush).
