CVE-2024-36971 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2025-01-27 | N/A | 7.8 HIGH |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: fix __dst_negative_advice() race __dst_negative_advice() does not enforce proper RCU rules when sk->dst_cache must be cleared, leading to possible UAF. RCU rules are that we must first clear sk->sk_dst_cache, then call dst_release(old_dst). Note that sk_dst_reset(sk) is implementing this protocol correctly, while __dst_negative_advice() uses the wrong order. Given that ip6_negative_advice() has special logic against RTF_CACHE, this means each of the three ->negative_advice() existing methods must perform the sk_dst_reset() themselves. Note the check against NULL dst is centralized in __dst_negative_advice(), there is no need to duplicate it in various callbacks. Many thanks to Clement Lecigne for tracking this issue. This old bug became visible after the blamed commit, using UDP sockets.

CVE-2024-26866 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2025-01-27 | N/A | 5.5 MEDIUM |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: spi: lpspi: Avoid potential use-after-free in probe() fsl_lpspi_probe() is allocating/disposing memory manually with spi_alloc_host()/spi_alloc_target(), but uses devm_spi_register_controller(). In case of error after the latter call the memory will be explicitly freed in the probe function by spi_controller_put() call, but used afterwards by "devm" management outside probe() (spi_unregister_controller() <- devm_spi_unregister() below). CVE-2023-2203 | 2 Redhat, Webkitgtk | 5 Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Eus, Enterprise Linux Server Aus and 2 more | 2025-01-22 | N/A | 8.8 HIGH |
A flaw was found in the WebKitGTK package. An improper input validation issue may lead to a use-after-free vulnerability. This flaw allows attackers with network access to pass specially crafted web content files, causing a denial of service or arbitrary code execution. This CVE exists because of a CVE-2023-28205 security regression for the WebKitGTK package in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2.

CVE-2023-28081 | 1 Facebook | 1 Hermes | 2025-01-21 | N/A | 9.8 CRITICAL |
A bytecode optimization bug in Hermes prior to commit e6ed9c1a4b02dc219de1648f44cd808a56171b81 could be used to cause an use-after-free and obtain arbitrary code execution via a carefully crafted payload. Note that this is only exploitable in cases where Hermes is used to execute untrusted JavaScript. Hence, most React Native applications are not affected.

CVE-2024-27929 | 1 Sixlabors | 1 Imagesharp | 2025-01-21 | N/A | 7.1 HIGH |
ImageSharp is a managed, cross-platform, 2D graphics library. A heap-use-after-free flaw was found in ImageSharp's InitializeImage() function of PngDecoderCore.cs file. This vulnerability is triggered when an attacker passes a specially crafted PNG image file to ImageSharp for conversion, potentially leading to information disclosure. This issue has been patched in versions 3.1.3 and 2.1.7. |
